In this role, you will specialize in advising on cross-border and transactional tax matters, encompassing a wide range of high-profile activities such as M&A, joint ventures, private equity and investment funds structuring, capital raisings, structured finance, real estate, and restructuring.

Role Overview:
As a Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive tax advice to clients on cross-border and transactional matters. You will work closely with a team of experienced tax professionals, advising on a diverse range of transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, private equity and investment funds structuring, capital raisings, structured finance, real estate, and restructuring. Your expertise and insights will help clients navigate complex tax landscapes and optimize tax structures while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tax advice and support on cross-border and transactional matters to a diverse range of clients, including multinational corporations, private equity firms, investment funds, and real estate entities.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to identify and assess tax risks, opportunities, and implications associated with complex transactions.
- Assist clients in developing tax-efficient structures, strategies, and solutions to optimize their cross-border investments and transactions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to perform due diligence reviews and advise on tax aspects of M&A transactions, joint ventures, and other business arrangements.
- Prepare and review tax documentation, including legal opinions, tax memoranda, and transactional tax reports.
- Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, providing timely insights to clients and internal teams.
- Support the development and implementation of tax planning strategies that align with clients’ business objectives.
- Assist with tax compliance matters, including the preparation and review of tax returns, filings, and disclosures.
Requirements:
- Law degree or equivalent qualification, with a specialization in tax law. Additional qualifications (e.g., LLM in Taxation) are highly desirable.
- Experience in tax advisory, preferably in a reputable law firm or professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of cross-border and transactional tax matters, including M&A, joint ventures, private equity, investment funds, structured finance, real estate, and restructuring.
- Familiarity with Luxembourg tax laws and regulations is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and provide practical solutions to clients.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Fluency in English is essential. Additional language skills, particularly French or German, are advantageous.
