US Energy Trading Business
We are working with a US energy trading business seeking an experienced trader to develop and manage natural gas derivatives strategies.
This opportunity would suit someone who has traded gas futures and options with clear ownership of their positions and a strong record of turning market views into profitable, risk disciplined decisions. The remit may cover North American gas, European gas or both, depending on the trader’s experience.
The role
You will identify and execute opportunities across the gas forward curve and options market, drawing on volatility, pricing and fundamental analysis. Weather, storage, LNG flows and market positioning will all inform your trading decisions. You will manage exposure within agreed risk limits and work with colleagues across trading, analytics and risk.
What we’re looking for
- Professional experience trading natural gas futures and options, including Henry Hub and/or TTF
- A strong understanding of options pricing, volatility and gas curve dynamics
- Evidence of developing and managing profitable trading strategies
- Sound judgement on position sizing and portfolio risk
- Strong analytical skills; experience with Python or other quantitative tools would be useful
Relevant backgrounds could include trading firms, funds, banks, commodity merchants or utilities. We’re interested in the quality of your trading experience and track record rather than a particular type of employer.
